Sophomore Letter

Dear sophomores you will be entering a place that is beyond words. A place of
vernacular conversation between groups of peers or just a one on one with a good friend.
Where the homework and assignments are ubiquitous, and the teachers are always contagious.
This will no longer be a place of solitude and sanctuary like it formerly was in middle school.
You shall prepare for war but not with swords and shields, but with words and writing utensils.
Because every day is a battle for survival where only the strong, shall prevail over the weak. Key
is, strategize before you enter the high school domain, for every step you take could be your
last!

Lets begin with your first day, as you walk through the halls that may seem like
mammoth hallways; they’re not you’re just a baby soph. Anyway, you may find it hard to
navigate your way through the confusing corridors that is Alta High School, there are principals
there to help you find your way like a lighthouse helping a ship get to the coast. But hurry
scurry you little one for shall you be tardy you may be marked late.

During class, you may want to abjure yourself from the class but please, deviate from doing so. Because you need to be the propitious student of the classroom so you can succeed and pass the class with astounding grades! So it’s time for lunch you have some hard cash with you where do you go? If you can drive you go anywhere you please, but if not there’s also some delicious food awaiting your arrival to the cafeteria. “But where to sit?” You may ask yourself. Personally, with your friends is the best choice, good times lots of laughs can’t beat that. But if you prefer some alone time to do your homework, you may choose to sit outside, if weather permits.
The end of school, probably one of the best grouping of words you could ever think of. By this time after an interminable and lugubrious day of school, you’re ready to go home and throw away all that you learned, sit on the couch with a bag of cookies and turn yourself off. Lets’ just say this wouldn’t win the best choice award. In the end, if you do your homework, do well on the tests, go to school and not be tardy, pay attention you will succeed in your life and schooling.
